These boats literally have to be lifted in and out of the water by cranes. Can you imagine the cost??? Not to mention that each weekend of racing runs between $2500 - $5000/boat in gas alone. YIKES!!!

I think the entire town of Key West turned out for this race. On my flight back to NY I sat next to a couple from the MidWest who attends this race every year. Powerboating is as big as Nascar in some circles.
